Venue Coordinator
Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Venue Coordinator (Events) to deliver events across Museums Victoria's various venues.
· Predominantly based at the Royal Exhibition Building, in addition to occasional work across Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and Scienceworks.
· Work alongside clients to deliver some of Victoria's largest events.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Venue Coordinator is to provide high quality venue & events expertise by facilitating the safe and effective installation, execution and de-installation of client-lead events, in addition to working across numerous departments in the delivery of internal stakeholder events.
Working alongside the wider Venues & Events team team, key duties of this role include:
· Coordinate and implement event-specific documentation, including floor plans, event orders, and operational procedures.
· Monitor venue activity to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, including emergency response duties.
· Act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, and visitors, resolving operational issues efficiently while maintaining safety and service standards.
· Maintain the venue’s condition by overseeing usage and performing basic maintenance and repairs as needed.
· Manage event-related services such as parking, audiovisual setup, waste management, and equipment hire during event periods.
· Deliver consistent and professional client service throughout the event lifecycle, fostering positive client relationships.
· Ensure all operations comply with Museums Victoria’s policies, procedures, and relevant legislation, with a strong focus on health and safety.
The successful applicant will have:
· Proven experience in event venue operations, with a solid understanding of building codes, fire safety, risk management, Occupational Health and Safety, and liquor licensing requirements.
· Confidence in interpreting and implementing plans for large-scale events in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a close-knit team and consistently deliver outstanding customer service.
· A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
· Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently across multiple business units.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
· Willingness to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check (successful applicants will need to cover this cost).
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a casual position. The hourly rate is VPS2.2 - $41.64 per hour (including casual loading) plus statutory superannuation.
