Position Overview
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Design & Construct Estimator to join their team. This role is ideal for a professional who can interpret drawings, understand project scopes, assess buildability, and price projects from concept through to delivery—much like a Cost Planner or Quantity Surveyor. It's particularly suited for someone with on-site experience, perhaps transitioning from a carpentry or site supervision background into estimating.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for D&C commercial projects.
• Interpret architectural drawings and documentation to determine project scope.
• Evaluate buildability and provide input into construction methodologies.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with directors, project managers, and site teams from early design through to delivery.
• Utilise estimating software such as Cubit or Buildsoft to compile and present pricing.
• Contribute to the tender review and handover process.

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

• Proven experience in a Design & Construct Estimator or Cost Planning role.
• Strong understanding of scope, specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Previous on-site experience (ideally as a carpenter or foreman) is highly regarded.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Cubit or Buildsoft.
