Support Worker – Long-Term Role Supporting a Young Person (Birkdale QLD)

Location: Birkdale, QLD
Job Type: Part-Time / Casual
Shifts:

Monday to Thursday: 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM (Before School)

Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Late School Start)

Monday to Thursday: School Pick-Up/ Skill Building: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (as needed)

Are you a compassionate, proactive, and respectful support worker who’s passionate about making a lasting difference in a young person’s life?

We are seeking an experienced and emotionally intelligent and passionate Support Worker to support a 14-year-old young adult (they/them pronouns). This young person is seeking a consistent, long-term support who will support them to build skills and engage in their local community.

About the Role:

You’ll be supporting them in their daily routines, focusing on skill-building and well-being in a safe and structured environment. Your work will involve:

Morning support before school (help with preparing for the day and school drop off - 7 am - 9 am)

Occasional late starts and after-school pick up and activities

Supporting with goals such as:

Meal planning and preparation

Learning to cook and eat independently while encouraging healthy eating habits

Building skills to support future independent living.

Requirements:

Experience working with neurodiverse young people

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

NDIS Worker Screening Check

First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
