Nest Residential Design is seeking a talented and experienced Building Designer / Draftsperson to join our growing team in Nowra. This is a full-time role suited to someone passionate about residential Building Design committed and confident in managing projects from concept to construction documentation.
About the Role
As a Building Designer / Draftsperson, you will play a key role in producing high-quality residential design and documentation. Working closely with our clients, consultants, and local authorities, you will help bring unique residential projects to life—ensuring functionality, compliance, and visual appeal.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed building design plans for New Homes, Dual Occupancy Designs and Renovations
Interpret client briefs and translate ideas into practical, buildable designs
Ensure compliance with relevant planning codes, BCA/NCC standards, and council regulations
Prepare high-quality drawings and documentation using Revit or ArchiCAD
Liaise with consultants and local councils to obtain necessary approvals and permits
Provide guidance and technical support to clients throughout the design process
Mentor and assist with training of new staff
Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and regulatory changes
What We’re Looking For
Tertiary qualification in Building Design, Architecture, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in residential design and drafting
Proficiency in Revit and or ArchiCAD
Sound understanding of local planning policies and the National Construction Code
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
