Band 7 - Salary Range $109,825 - $122,758 per annum + 12% Super + ADO
(Rate of pay and super effective 1 July 2025)

The Opportunity
The Project Officer is a critical position in the Transformation Office, supporting delivery of the workplace transformation plan, and ensuring readiness of the organisation's future ways of working in relation to customer and people experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and lead the project management life cycle, including project plans, timelines and milestones, to ensure programs deliver outcomes that align with Council’s objectives and meet the needs of the community.
- Coordinate and support engagement activities with internal departments and external stakeholders through various consultations, briefings, workshops and communications to community groups and other Council teams.
- Assist project leads in the development and forecasting of budgets, implementing measures to monitor project expenditure to ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial constraints.
- Maintain appropriate records, registers and documentation relating to procurement processes, project development and progress, correspondence, risks and key milestones in accordance with Council systems and policies.
- Identify and assess project risks in the initial development phase and assist in implementing measures to manage risks in consultation with other business units, escalating issues where necessary.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in project management or related field with several years’ relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience.
- 5 years plus experience in project support or coordination, ideally within government or large organisations undertaking transformation.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting, engaging and influencing key stakeholders to achieve outcomes, including project teams, SME’s, staff, people leaders and sponsors.
- Proficient in developing program reporting for project control group/steering committee governance models.
- Excellent communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
