Hudson is looking out for a Data Engineer & Platform Lead for a Government Client.Location: Melbourne, Victoria (Hybrid work arrangements available)
Top 5 Must-Have Criteria:

• Hands-on experience managing and developing within Microsoft Fabric, including components like Dataflows, Pipelines, and Lakehouses.

• Proficiency in SQL, DAX, Power Query, and preferably Python, with demonstrated capability in building and maintaining complex data pipelines.

• Deep understanding of the Bronze (raw), Silver (cleansed), and Gold (curated) data layers, and experience managing multi-layered data models.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics (integration, transformation, reporting).

• Demonstrated experience in managing and developing solutions within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
• Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and languages such as SQL, DAX, Power Query, and Python.
• Experience with data lakehouse architecture and managing multi-layered data models (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and related technologies.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a government or regulated environment.

• Proven ability to analyse complex data problems and design effective, scalable solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.

• Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and applying them to solve real-world problems.
• Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technology landscapes.

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics roles, preferably within the public sector or large enterprise environments.
• Microsoft certifications in Azure or Fabric technologies (desirable).

• Understanding of governance, security, and compliance requirements, particularly in a public sector or regulated environment.
