The Lucas Group is seeking a technically skilled agronomist to lead national market development activities. This role focuses on connecting R&D with commercial outcomes through field trials, technical training, and stakeholder engagement.

Our client is a leading Australian-owned agricultural company with a strong focus on R&D, innovation, and local manufacturing. With a long-standing presence in crop science, they develop, and supply crop protection products tailored to Australian conditions.

About the Role
This senior position works closely with the National Sales Manager and Business Development Manager to align trial activities with commercial priorities. You’ll be the technical face of the company at grower days, consultant briefings, and industry events — supported by a strong internal team and robust product pipeline.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead trial program, execution, and reporting across broadacre cropping
• Deliver compelling product demonstrations to growers, agronomists, distributors and consultants
• Translate R&D outcomes into effective marketing tools and digital content
• Build strong industry relationships, advocating product value
• Contribute to strategic product placement and operational planning
• Support sales teams with training and technical advice
• Regular travel (intra- and interstate) to support trials and engagement activities

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years' experience in agronomy, preferably with national exposure
• Proven experience managing and interpreting field trials
• Commercial insight into grower and retailer purchasing decisions
• Excellent communication skills to influence technical and non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in data analysis, statistical reporting, and technical writing
• Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field

The Offer

• Negotiable remuneration package circa $220,000
• Annual bonus structure based on company performance

• Flexible location with regular attendance at the Perth office (Kwinana)
