THE ROLE

The AI Engineer is a key role, responsible for delivering innovative and sustainable AI solutions, contributing to my client’s competitive advantage in the Generative AI domain.
This is an exciting opportunity to support their industry leading Product teams, delivering cutting edge customer facing AI solutions and optimising their performance, along with delivering key components back into international Flutter brands for wider use.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and engineers to define and deliver impactful AI use cases.
• Architect and implement scalable Generative AI features, including agentic workflows, conversational AI, and autonomous agents.
• Advocate for best engineering practices within the team.
• Leading estimation of delivery effort and timeline for taking AI solutions to production.
• Holding yourself and others accountable for delivery.
• Designing repeatable standardised.
• Identify gaps and implement best practices across operational processes, DevOps, deployments, security and vulnerabilities etc.
• Develop and socialise patterns and standards for use across the organisation.
• Automate processes wherever possible.
• Innovate and challenge the status quo by introducing new ideas and concepts to the team.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Strong proficiency in Python programming language, including data structures, algorithms and object-oriented programming.
• Ability to write efficient, readable and well-documented code.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications (ex: Chat bots, NLP pipelines, Generative AI systems).
• Ability to design and build robust agentic workflows ensuring proper error handling and reproducibility.
• Strong experience in working with containerized applications (docker, k8s).
• Experience with using web frameworks like Fast API, Flask, Django for LLM applications.
• A solid understanding of end-to-end AI application development life cycle.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks like Llama Index, Lang Chain, etc.

YOU WILL HAVE

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in Generative AI and Agentic AI development.
• 5+ years of Software development experience preferably Python or Java.
• Experience in building and maintaining solutions running in production environments at scale.
• Good understanding and experience in measuring and designing for non-functionals, like cost, reliability, availability, security and performance.
