About the role

Hartney Haulage Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Minto, NSW. As a full-time Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy vehicles, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, and operating at peak performance.

What you'll be doing

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of heavy vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and specialised equipment

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues

Conduct inspections and prepare detailed reports on the condition of vehicles

Maintain accurate records of all work performed

Collaborate with the operations team to minimise vehicle downtime and maximise fleet efficiency

Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment

Assist with the training and mentoring of junior mechanics, where required

What we're looking for

Relevant trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, preferably in a similar transport or logistics environment

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues

Excellent knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components

Working knowledge of relevant industry regulations and safety standards

Strong communication skills, able to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Commitment to continuous learning and a passion for keeping up with industry advancements
