The Opportunity
As an A Grade Electrician, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing environment, responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment. Your strong knowledge and experience in Relay and PLC logic as well as servo control systems will be put to the test, ensuring the smooth operation of our site in Preston.
Onboarding & Training: Day shift for the first 2–3 months
Hours: 5:00am – 1:20pm
Ongoing Roster (Post-training) Weekly rotating shifts:
Day Shift: 5:00am – 1:20pm
Split Shift: 9:40am – 6:00pm
Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm – 10:20pm
What you'll be doing with us
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues with precision
Conduct regular inspections to prevent potential problems and minimize downtime
Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety procedures
Plan and execute electrical projects, including upgrades and installations
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams for seamless operations
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
Participate in training programs to enhance your electrical skills
Respond to emergency situations and work flexible hours, as needed
What you'll need to succeed
Completion of an electrical apprenticeship and certification as an A Grade Electrician
Minimum of 3 years' experience as an A Grade Electrician in a manufacturing environment
Strong expertise in electrical systems and equipment, such as AC motors, HMIs, and control circuits
Experience with Relay Logic, Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron PLC’s, SEW, Lenze and Siemens VSD’s
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Familiarity with Australian electrical codes and regulations
Self-motivation to excel both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Sharp problem-solving and decision-making abilities
