About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Electrician to join their maintenance team in Preston, VIC on a casual basis, however offering full-time hours. This role will primarily involve working the afternoon shift, providing essential electrical maintenance and repair services to support their operations. As a Manufacturing Electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring all systems are maintained and repaired in timely manner.

What you'll be doing

Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment in the manufacturing plant

Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues to determine the appropriate repairs required

Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential problems and prevent downtime

Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations and safety procedures

Plan and execute electrical projects, including new installations and upgrades

Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineering staff to coordinate work and ensure efficient operations

Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used in the maintenance of electrical systems and equipment

Participate in training programs to maintain and enhance electrical skills and knowledge

Respond to emergency situations and work outside of regular business hours as required

What we're looking for

Qualified A-Grade electrician

Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrician, preferably a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including AC motors, VSDs, PLCs, HMIs, and control circuits

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

Familiarity with Australian electrical codes and regulation

Ability to work independently or as part of a team
