The iconic Donovans Restaurant in St Kilda is offering an opportunity to join our busy team as our Reservations and Host as well as Assistant Functions Coordinator.

We are looking for a candidate with a professional attitude, great time management, strong organisational skills and sharp attention to detail.

Scope and general purpose of the position

Field phonecalls and emails inquiries for restaurant reservations and coordinate with guests to plan and organise special occasions within our 2 events spaces.

Greet and seat guests during service times and champion the welcoming and friendly Donovans ethos

Main Duties

Answering busy switchboard and taking messages

Greeting and hosting of our large 120 seater restaurant

Planning and organising functions and events in the Private Dining Room or Library via phone, email and in person

Liaising with the Kitchen/Chefs to organise personalised menus for functions and events.

Liaising with FOH Supervisors for detailed hand-overs of function and events.

Daily Restaurant Reservations and Enquires via email, phone or in person

Menu and wine list printing (when requested)

Office stock, uniform and stationary management

General duties relating to very busy restaurant operation

Office Dress required at all times.

Provide a courteous and professional service at all times

Maintain a good working relationship with your colleagues

Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned

This role is a permanent part-time position which includes weekends and early evenings
