Waterfront Melbourne Apartments is looking for a professional and experienced Reservations and Guest Service Agent to join our small and well-versed team dedicated to offer excellent customer service and high standard quality accommodation to the corporate and leisure market. The right candidate will have a strong background in reservations, sales, and front office operations within the hospitality sector.
You will be part of a supportive and experienced team, working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and exceptional guest service. The right candidate must be confident handling bookings, guest interactions, and department coordination, with the opportunity to grow into sales and marketing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle guest check-ins and check-outs in a welcoming and professional manner
Provide outstanding customer service, addressing guest needs and resolving issues efficiently
Manage individual, group, and corporate reservations across multiple channels
Coordinate with the housekeeping department to ensure timely room readiness
Maintain accurate booking records and guest profiles
Manage availability and rate updates through the Channel Manager (SiteMinder)
Liaise with travel agents and partners via GDS platforms
Assist in managing corporate accounts, group blocks, and negotiated rates
Process payments, pre-authorisations, and resolve chargebacks and billing queries
Support general front office operations and administrative duties as needed
Requirements:
2 years of experience in front office, reservations, or sales support in hotels or serviced apartments
Confident working with SiteMinder, GDS, and property management systems (PMS)
Familiarity with corporate accounts, OTA platforms, and channel management
Solid understanding of billing procedures, including chargebacks and reconciliation
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Problem solving skills, ability to work in a busy environment and multitasking skills
Strong team player with a proactive attitude and attention to detail
Immediate start. Candidate must be available from 9am to 6pm Mondays to Fridays. Occasional work on the weekends required from 9.30am to 2pm.
Australia working rights is essential. Reference of previous working experience is welcomed.
