u&u Recruitment Partners is proud to represent The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA).

GIICA is laying the foundations for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond. Hosting the world’s largest sporting celebration is a privilege that will define Queensland for the rest of the 21st century, driving economic growth, sustainability, connectivity, and healthier, more-inclusive communities.

GIICA will deliver 17 new and upgraded venues, from Brisbane’s Main Stadium to key sporting infrastructure across the state. We are building a legacy that transcends the Games, transforming Queensland to ensure we thrive on the world stage showcasing our vision, culture and lifestyle.

GIICA is committed to delivering exceptional service and accelerating our state's transformation by bringing together communities, industries and governments. We are ensuring every project we deliver for the world's largest sporting celebration is making a transformational difference to the Queensland community.

The Opportunity:

As GIICA’s Design and Multimedia Specialist, you will create visually compelling assets to support the organisation's communication and branding efforts. Working in the Strategic Communication and Media team, and with stakeholders across GIICA, you will deliver key visual communication materials tailored to corporate communications, print, large format, digital and social platforms.

Effectively storytelling at GIICA will involve harnessing new design trends and tools to engage a wide audience. You will ensure that all design concepts align with GIICA's brand guidelines, maintaining consistency and quality across all visual assets. Your experience in supporting and developing visual assets such as photography, video presentations and infographics will be essential in creating compelling internal and external communications that spark meaningful conversations and inspire dialogue among diverse audiences.

As a foundational role in the new organisation, you will support the team to educate and engage Queenslanders on GIICA’s planning and preparations for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop design concepts and visual elements for various media, including print, digital, and social platforms;
  • Ensure all designs align with the organisation's brand guidelines and messaging;

  • Work with the Communications Manager, Digital Manager and Media and Content Manager to interpret design briefs and produce effective communication materials;
  • Provide design support for individual projects across GIICA, ensuring visual consistency and quality across the projects, partners and contractors;
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders, metrics and make necessary revisions to assets. Conduct regular reviews to ensure designs meet the evolving needs of the organisation;
  • Stay updated with design trends and tools to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of designs; and
  • Ensure final GIICA assets are visually appealing, error-free, and on-brand.

About You:

You are a skilled designer with expertise in graphics and experience in multimedia content creation, including photography, video editing and animation. With strong attention to detail, you translate creative concepts into high-quality designs, considering accessibility factors like colour contrast and captioning.

Your portfolio demonstrates a range of projects, and you excel at building rapport with stakeholders, offering expert design advice. Agile and adaptable, on-trend, you thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

Additional Experience:

  • Expertise in design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premier Pro) and practical experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in creating multimedia content, including video editing and developing animation;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a strong ability to interpret creative concepts into high-quality designs in a timely and effective manner;
  • Knowledge of accessibility considerations for designed assets, including colour contrast, formatting considerations and video captioning;
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and styles;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop rapport with a wide range of stakeholders and offer specialist advice on graphic design and multimedia best practice; and
  • Proven track record of being agile and flexible, with the ability to be highly responsive in a fast-paced and changing project environment.

Benefits:

Join the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority team and be part of an iconic project that will shape Queensland’s future:

  • Competitive salary package; $120k - $130k + 12.75% Super;
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work of up to two days remote;
