Clerk Grade: 5/6 ($97,027 - $107,59) + Super and Leave Loading + Accrued flex time
Duration: Ongoing/, full-time - 3 x positions available
Location: Parramatta 2 - 3 days per week, hybrid and flexible working conditions available.

NSW Fair Trading is looking for driven and passionate people who want to make a difference for people living in strata, retirement villages and residential land lease communities or buying and selling their home.
We want to hear from people who are passionate about fact-finding and problem solving and who have worked in compliance teams before.
We also want to hear from candidates with compliance and regulatory experience in different fields, including local councils, regulators, insurance and banking compliance and legal practitioners.
About the team
As part of the new Strata and Property Taskforce in NSW Fair Trading, we are recruiting for newly created roles in our Compliance team. These roles will enable us to protect consumers, enforce professional standards across over 60,000 operators and restore confidence to the property sector.
The work of the team is varied but predominately involves carrying out compliance activities to support consumers and licensed operators across strata, real estate, retirement villages, residential land lease communities and conveyancing.
Reporting to a Senior Inspector you will work closely with the Compliance team to investigate matters, gather evidence, prepare reports and provide advice. You will have carriage of your own matters and work collaboratively to ensure optimal compliance outcomes.
What you will do:
- Carry out compliance and investigation activities related to the strata and property sectors.
- Participate in proactive compliance activities and programs.
- Advise customers on compliance outcomes.
- Work in a fast-paced team committed to fair outcomes that make a real impact in the community.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Compliance experience - ability to undertake investigations and establish regulatory compliance.
- Regulatory knowledge - understanding of legislation and compliance and enforcement powers.
- Work collaboratively - be able to work with other teams to achieve optimal, compliance outcomes.
- Integrity - be ethical, professional and uphold the public sector values.
Must-Haves
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent experience/willingness to obtain through employer-sponsored program).
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance.
- A current NSW driver's licence & willingness to travel when required.

Salary Grade 5/6, with the base salary for this role starting at 97,027 base plus superannuation.
