The Role:
The Maintenance Officer will effectively and safely deliver programmed and occasional unforeseen maintenance across the Carey campuses.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Officer will carry out general handyperson repairs, support event set-ups and pack downs and perform routine safety inspections and checks. They will contribute to a safe workplace to support a safe learning environment for students.
This position will be offered as a 3-month contract with an ASAP commencement. The role is primarily based at the Kew campus however this person will be required to move between campuses at times.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Previous experience in building or property maintenance role is highly desirable
- A commitment to working in and maintaining a safe environment
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to take initiative, working with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to operate small power tools such as movers, brush cutters and hedge trimmers
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work productively in a team
- A genuine passion for maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and the sun
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods
A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
