Peak Disability Supports is a NDIS registered provider in the Geelong region. As a provider, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care for individuals with disabilities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Residential Disability Support Worker to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be required to assist people with:

Provide personal care assistance (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming) to individuals in line with their care plans.

Assist with daily living activities including meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.

Skilled in managing challenging behaviours and have the ability to assess and manage risk in critical situations

Skill development - shopping, cooking, catching public transport

Transport - transport to appointments and/or shopping

Social & Community participation - support individuals to engage in community activities, social events, and personal development.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with NDIS requirements and organisational policies.

Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.

Follow health and safety procedures and ensure the well-being of clients at all times.

Essential Criteria

Certificate III or IV in Disability, or similar relevant qualifications.

Current NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain one)

NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate - "Quality, Safety & You (certificate of completion)

Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain).

Clear National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Valid Driver's License (essential)

Previous experience in disability support or care work.

Understanding of the NDIS, person-centred care approach, trauma-informed care practices and positive behaviour support

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Highly Desirable Criteria:

Experience working in a residential setting.

Experience Implementing intensive and complex behaviour supports

Employment Type:

This is a casual position with services based in the Geelong region

You will be working in various residential settings with consistent shifts fortnightly

Shifts can include evenings, weekends, sleepovers shift (availability for sleepovers is essential)
