OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This position is responsible for providing project support to the Sharing the National Collection initiative. This role is highly valued, supporting partner cultural institutions to participate in Sharing the National Collection and ensuring the initiative is well supported both internally and externally.
Being part of this project team is a significant opportunity to engage with regional and suburban partner cultural institutions across the country and be a part of a noteworthy chapter in the art history of the nation.
This position involves contact with a range of regional and suburban institutions across Australia, working through various tasks that may include gathering information, providing and coordinating specialist advice from within the National Gallery, finding creative solutions to issues and other tasks that may be relevant to sharing works of art from the national collection.
This is a full-time, non-ongoing employment opportunity until 30 June 2027.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
In accordance with the APS 6 work level standards, you will have the following key responsibilities:
Project manage assigned loan requests associated with the successful delivery of the Sharing the National Collection project.
Lead the relationship management with partner institutions, collect and deliver information and provide advice and support, that enables participation in the Sharing the National Collection program.
Assist with budget management including variance reporting, credit card acquittals, procurement and financial management tasks.
Proactively monitor deadlines, triage work and forward plan commitments to ensure that papers and meeting materials are developed and shared in a timely manner.
Support the Manager in gathering and understanding complex information to deliver advice.
Liaise directly with, internal and external stakeholders to draft and prepare briefs, reports, contracts, and other correspondence on behalf of the project.
Work with project team members to generate solutions on issues relating to the delivery of the project.
Build strong working relationships and rapport with key stakeholders and represent the National Gallery with professionalism, integrity and tact.
Use a variety of systems and information resources.
Coordinate, develop, implement and review risk assessments with the Project team to ensure a safe delivery of the project.
Exercise sound professional judgement and use a common-sense approach when dealing with issues, problems, confidential and sensitive matters, ensuring diplomacy and discretion.
ELIGIBILITY:
Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the Gallery, you must be an Australian citizen.
Police Check – to be eligible for this role you must complete a police check.
