About the roles
Teacher Aide – Industrial Design and Technology – you will support the delivery of quality learning and teaching in the Industrial Design and Technologies Faculty. You will assist teachers inside and outside the classroom and will actively promote student engagement and will provide classroom support to enhance the capacity of the students.
Teacher Aide – Inclusive Education – you will assist the Program Leader Inclusive Education, teachers and students in your care. You will provide educational support for students with disabilities. This will include working with students as directed by the teacher, to practice the development of specific skills, such as reading and writing, lead small groups through educational activities and learning games and assist students with practical classes (cooking, art, workshop). The role will also provide support to students during excursions or extra co-curricular activities.
About the contract
These positions are part time (30 hours per week), fixed term for 2025 Term 3 to cover a period of leave.
About you
To be considered for this Teacher Aide – Industrial Design and Technology role, you will need:
· Valid working rights within Australia.
· Be committed to the goals, ethos, and mission of the College as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition.
· Possess a current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card for paid employees.
· Trade qualifications in metal engineering or construction industries. (Desirable).
· Certificate III in Education Support (desirable).
· Provide First Aid Certificate and Provide CPR Certificate (desirable).
· Previous experience in a similar role, providing support to teachers in a classroom setting, whilst displaying respect, patience and empathy for students with high level needs.
· Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
· Ability to work from plans to produce projects of a high standard in timber and metal work.
· Ability to apply a range of finishes to timber and metal work.
