The role
Play a vital role in the conduct of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials across a broad range of eye conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and more.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the conduct and coordination of clinical trials alongside research staff and clinicians
- Perform a range of patient assessments (e.g. visual acuity, OCT imaging, intraocular pressure, perimetry)
- Support clinical procedures and sample collection in accordance with trial protocols (training provided)
- Manage patient scheduling, communication, and accurate data entry
- Liaise with patients, sponsors, and healthcare staff to ensure smooth trial delivery.
Your skills and experience
- A tertiary qualification in Orthoptics and registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board
- High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to form productive professional relationships and communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- Proven ability to build and maintain excellent rapport with a wide range of patients, particularly elderly patients, ensuring effective and compassionate communication and care
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new techniques and procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- A solutions-oriented approach with a commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment.
