About the Role

Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely end-to-end revenue recognition. You'll also support other month-end and year-end tasks, ensuring compliance with internal finance policies, accounting standards, and program contractual reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned month-end tasks and processes to meet reporting requirements and deadlines, including journals, intercompany invoices, and GL reconciliations.
  • Oversee revenue transactions and compliance across various entities, providing efficient and timely reports to management.
  • Maintain the Grants contract register and oversee invoicing for Grants income.
  • Apply invoicing and revenue recognition in accordance with contract terms, budgets, and accounting standards (AASB 15 and AASB 1058 knowledge is highly regarded).
  • Handle accurate and timely invoicing for internal and external stakeholders, including intercompany revenue recharges and reconciliations.
  • Maintain the aged receivables register, follow up on aged debtors, prepare bank reconciliations, and track cash inflow.
  • Prepare and reconcile revenue balance sheet accounts monthly, including Accrued Income Receivable, Deferred Revenue, and Unearned Income.
  • Assist with revenue-related inquiries during interim and year-end audits, and collaborate on ad hoc projects and initiatives.

About You

You're a driven and adaptable Financial Accountant with a proven track record in finance operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to accuracy and compliance.

Key Measures of Success:

  • Proven experience managing day-to-day finance operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances.
  • A solid understanding of financial policies, accounting principles, and their application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an intermediate level of business acumen.
  • Ability to contribute to fostering a high-performance team environment, emphasising performance, engagement, and development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, with the ability to handle large and complex data sets.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance/Accounting or a related field.
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification, with 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Reporting Functions.
