We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant who’s ready to take ownership of key financial processes and contribute to the success of a fast-paced, multi-entity organisation.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing accounts payable and weekly revenue reporting across multiple business entities
• Performing daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash flow statements
• Recording and processing journal entries to ensure complete financial documentation
• Reconciling monthly accruals, P&L items, and balance sheet accounts
• Managing client travel expense recharges and intercompany transactions
• Consolidating monthly profit and loss statements by business unit
• Analysing financial performance against budgets and forecasts to provide actionable insights
• Leading the month-end close process from start to finish
• Preparing and lodging BAS, PAYG, and FBT statements
• Producing regular and ad hoc financial reports, including variance analysis and data interpretation to support strategic decision

What will you bring to the role?

To thrive in this role, you’ll be someone who combines technical expertise with a proactive mindset. Ideally, you will:

• Have 3–5 years of experience in a financial accounting role, with a solid track record of delivering accurate and timely results
• Possess a strong grasp of core accounting principles and hands-on experience across the full spectrum of financial accounting functions
• Be confident working independently, managing your workload with minimal supervision while staying focused on priorities
• Excel at balancing routine tasks with complex, ad-hoc financial challenges, demonstrating sound judgment and attention to detail
• Be a clear and effective communicator, capable of turning financial data into meaningful insights for stakeholders
• Bring advanced Excel skills, including data compilation, analysis, and presentation
• Have working knowledge of tax, statutory, and management reporting requirements
• Be experienced with accounting and CRM systems—this will be highly regarded
• Bonus points if you have experience in the staffing or managed services industry, though it’s not essential

Remuneration

This role is paying between $90,000 - $100,000 dependent on experience + superannuation
