The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Developer to join our growing team. The role involves the development and maintenance of software applications that support playground design and manufacturing processes. The key focus initially will be to gain an understanding of our custom-built add-in for Autodesk Inventor (known as ADAM) used for play unit modelling. A comprehensive understanding of VBA coding is essential for this aspect of the role. Building on this base is the design and implementation of additional functionality over time. The Software Developer will also support digital transformation in other applications across our business improving workflow and contributing to company goals.

The role works closely with design teams, engineers, and production staff to deliver digital tools that streamline operations, improve design capabilities, and enhance customer engagement. The position sits within the Technical Design Department which contributes modelling and component detail design and specifications for both production processes, and research and development.

Software & Systems Development

Provide specialised coding and systems design expertise for software development and maintenance as may arise as the company grows

Acquire an in-depth understanding of the back end of the ADAM Inventor add-in software

Develop a thorough working knowledge of playground unit modelling in ADAM through working as part of the Technical Design team

Provide ongoing maintenance, modifications and enhancements to ensure ongoing serviceability and provide bug fixes

Further develop the ADAM software to provide additional functionality in-keeping with company strategic goals

Carry out detailed testing of software or systems to verify functionality, efficiency and reliability

Research interactions with other software or processes within the organisation to inform the development and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure

Create and maintain procedure manuals, training materials and technical documentation

Monitor performance of deployed systems and respond to user issues

Research and advise management on the desirability and/or suitability of software packages to be purchased versus in-house development

Build and support other applications and integrations using appropriate programming languages

Supervise and/or monitor the operational introduction of new software or systems

Maintain accountability for compliance with project timelines, project briefs and budgets

Support digital transformation across the business to improve workflow

Provide reports, demonstrations or presentations to management or stakeholders at key milestones

Other Duties

Attend department and staff meetings, including participating in team goals and initiatives

Engage in general housekeeping to maintain a pleasant and safe work environment

Undertake training as required to acquire and maintain the skills necessary for the fulfilment of the role

Required Skills

· Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering

or related field

· 2 years plus experience in software development and automation

· Strong proficiency in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and similar coding

· Highly developed knowledge of CAD and Illustrator type software

· Solid understanding of software development principles and programming

logic

· Experience in modelling software used within the manufacturing or building

industries is desirable

· Experience with web-based and desktop application development

· Well-developed planning, project management and reporting skills

· Working knowledge of Australian Standards and regulations related to

playground equipment will need to be acquired during the initiation phase of the

role
