About the role
The Executive Assistant sits within the Lord Mayor's Office (LMO) and offers an exciting opportunity to work within a highly dynamic, political environment that has a real community impact.
Working in a small support team, you will lead by example and work collaboratively with the team and across CoM to enable the inner mechanics of the LMO. This involves the usual suspects (but not limited to) – diary management, event coordination, preparation of written documentation/correspondence, triaging requests, minuting meetings, proofreading, document management in addition to coordinating the support team to ensure the office is operating in the most efficient way.
This unique role requires a distinct skillset. Curious? read on..
You are an experienced executive assistant and have worked in a similar setting, political, highly complex, working on matters that may be confidential/sensitive with the understanding that the role you play will have a direct impact on community. Your exceptional communication skills and customer focus will support you in your day to day, in addition to ensuring you build strong relationships and foundations that you will inevitably rely on for quick responses and actions in future.
A little more about the role
You will be a team champion through coaching, supporting and directing when needed
You will provide proactive executive support, researching and preparing clear briefing notes all within expected timeframes
You will be an escalation point for the support team and work with the Chief of Staff, LMO when required to resolve complex matters
You will be required to work in the office on a full-time basis
You will be working in a time sensitive, busy environment with competing priorities, so it can be a little hectic - this is not for everyone, and that's ok! We want to be clear with setting expectations.
