Opportunity

Having opened just very recently, Lúc Lắc is Brisbane’s newest and most breathtaking dining experience, captivating guests from the moment they arrive. Set in a lush, tropical indoor-outdoor setting at The Star’s premier Queens Wharf location, Lúc Lắc offers a vibrant menu inspired by the rich, layered flavours of Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore, with a hint of French influence. The menu brings together exciting combinations like the spicy Bo Luc Lac and the refreshing Ora King Salmon Ceviche, offering flavours that are sure to surprise and delight. The central bar complements this with uniquely crafted cocktails, while a late-night DJ adds a lively, social atmosphere ideal for after-dinner enjoyment.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their culinary skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment. As a Commis Chef, you will work closely with our kitchen team to assist in food preparation and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.

Key to your success will be your demonstrated ability to:

Assist in setting up workstations with required ingredients and equipment

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning

Support the Chef de Partie in cooking dishes to menu specifications with an eye for presentation

Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines at all times

Properly store food items and monitor stock usage, notifying senior chefs of shortages

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment and utensils

Contribute to minimising food wastage through accurate preparation and storage practices

Take direction and feedback positively to continually grow and develop your culinary skills

Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation

Carry out other kitchen tasks as requested by the Chef de Partie or senior chefs
