Posted 4 days ago
Do you want to make a difference with your work? Do you want to work for an organisation that is respected by its members and stakeholders for being effective and collaborative?
We are looking for someone who is experienced in effective advocacy and delivering projects that make a difference to the community.
About us
We are the peak body for local government in Tasmania. Our role is to support, advocate for and represent the local government sector, so our 29 council members are best placed to serve their communities.
Annual leave is five weeks plus the Christmas/New Year shutdown, as well as generous superannuation and long service leave provisions. We look after our people, supporting and rewarding them. We respect that work is part of your life, not your life. Most staff work off-site a few days a week, and those with kids have flexible arrangements for pick-ups, drop-offs and events.
About you
You’ve got demonstrated policy and program skills and experience, with a track record of achievement. You’re known for your communication skills that connect people, uncover the true problems and identify the best ways to act. You’ll understand local government’s challenges and bring insights around emergency management or climate change.
The details
The position description is available www.lgat.tas.gov.au. To discuss the role contact Ben Morris, Policy Director, on (03) 6146 3740 or email [email protected].
To apply, please provide your resume and an application letter (no more than three pages) addressing:
What attracted you to the role
Why you would be suitable
What you think you'd do to deliver it successfully.
Applications submitted via the apply function within Seek WILL NOT be considered.
Applications are to be submitted by email to [email protected] by 9.00am, Monday 7 July 2025.
