The opportunity:
The Project Officer Pest Plants and Animals is responsible for implementing several key areas of the Limestone Coast Pest Plant and Animal Strategy, such as the feral deer eradication and African Lovegrass projects.
The Project Officer will lead the operational delivery of priority pest plant and animal projects that deliver maximum benefit for landholders and the environment. The position is responsible for timely planning and coordination of activities, encouraging landholder participation and compliance, GIS mapping and collaborating with stakeholders to successfully deliver on-ground activities.

Special conditions:
Position is based at Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Keith or Kingston by negotiation
A current minimum class C driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4WD is required
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory criminal history check
Will have the opportunity to participate in fire management or associated duties
Some out of hours work, intrastate and remote travel involving overnight absences from home may be required
Required to work alone in a field environment, including working in adverse weather conditions from time to time
Required to participate in the LC Landscape Board's Performance Development and Review Program
Required to obtain accreditation as an Authorised Officer of the Landscape Act and perform the duties of an Authorised Officer.
