Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join our Brisbane-based team, focusing on Process Safety Risk across the APAC region. In this role, you will collaborate with both of our subsidiaries in Australia and New Caledonia (in French). In this context, you are able to write reports and lead meetings both English and French.

Working within a dynamic and high-performing team, you will engage in a diverse range of projects and contribute to innovative risk solutions for our clients across multiple industries. Your key responsibilities will include:

Operating across various industries, gaining exposure to different markets and learning opportunities.

Conducting and leading risk assessments, including Safety in Design, HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA, LOPA, and QRA, for sectors such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, Transport, and Petrochemicals.

Developing Safety Cases and Emergency Response Plans.

Performing Hazardous Area Classification assessments.

Conducting technical risk modelling using industry-standard software (e.g., Phast, Flumilog).

Building and maintaining strong client relationships to expand our network and business opportunities.

Preparing clear, concise, and insightful reports and recommendations for clients.

What you will bring to the team:

Degree qualification in Engineering or Science related to process safety (Chemical, Risk or Environment preferred) or similar discipline;

A minimum of 3 years industry experience in a recognised consulting, chemical processing corporate or regulatory environment;

Fluency in French and English, oral and writing and including technical terms;

Experience working in a risk, audit, governance or compliance related role;

Experience in modelling hazardous phenomena using Phast is highly desired;

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;

Written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
