The Engagement and Diversion Program is Queensland's counter violent extremism program and delivers the Commonwealth National Support and Intervention Program (NSIP). The NSIP has been implemented to build resilient communities and take action against violent extremism.
You will assist in making Queensland communities safe from violent extremism by assessing risk to the community and by developing, implementing, and managing interagency case management strategies for individuals at risk of radicalising to violent extremism. This involves building trust and understanding between law enforcement, government, non-government and community stakeholders, vulnerable individuals, and their families. Ability to build rapport/communicate effectively with vulnerable individuals, diverse communities and key government and nongovernment stakeholders is essential.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Compile counter-violent extremism assessment tools and develop security risk assessments based on structured professional judgement.
- Perform individual needs assessment of clients to develop client specific intervention strategies.
- Engage persons of interest (POI) and families to perform security risk assessment, case management and intervention evaluation activities through a variety of means including face to face interaction.
- Engage government, non-government & community stakeholders to facilitate interagency case management.
- Develop and maintain detailed risk and case management documentation (including command briefings) for administrative and evidentiary purposes.
- Design, develop and deliver counter violent extremist case management and awareness training for government, non-government and community stakeholders.
Role Requirements
Mandatory
- Possession of a current C class driver's licence.
- Possession of/willingness to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1security clearance.
- Passing of or willingness to undergo preliminary and regular psychometric assessment at management discretion.
Qualification
- Case management experience and/or experience working with vulnerable youth and adults is highly desirable
