Join a Critical Maintenance Team Supporting QLD’s Underground Mines

We are currently seeking experienced Trade Assistants for an exciting opportunity based in Emerald, QLD. This hands-on role supports maintenance and installation of underground mining equipment, particularly longwall chains on Armoured Face Conveyors (AFCs), which play a vital role in coal production.

About the Role:
This is a manual, high-risk support position where you’ll assist in maintaining and preparing mining equipment for six of the region’s major underground mines. The role is best suited to candidates with experience in mechanical, diesel, or plumbing trades.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inspection, preparation, and installation of underground longwall chains
• Replace worn or damaged chain links and fit new assemblies
• Support maintenance of flight bars, sprockets, and drives
• Perform tool handling, greasing, cleaning, and storage of components
• Help during shutdown/changeout tasks and maintain worksite safety

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience as a Trade Assistant with mechanical/diesel fitters or plumbers
• Comfortable using power tools and performing physical labour
• Strong safety mindset in high-risk environments
• Ability to lift up to 15kg regularly
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player

What’s on Offer:

• $33 – $35/hour + penalties
• Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
