Hiring: Trades Assistant

Location: Hemmant, QLD

Pay: Based on experience – $33ph – $37ph

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Trades Assistant to support preventive and corrective maintenance in a refrigerated warehouse environment. This role involves working with mechanical and electrical systems, refrigeration, air compressors, and essential services to ensure smooth operations. You will also assist with supervising contractors and maintaining a safe, functional workspace for warehouse staff.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist with maintenance and repairs of plant equipment and machinery

-Perform refrigeration system checks and servicing

-Support air compressor, rapid roller door, and dock equipment maintenance

-Maintain preventative maintenance schedules

-Work closely with the Facilities Manager and trade staff

-Ensure all safety protocols and compliance measures are met

What We’re Looking For:

✔ 5+ years of experience as a Trades Assistant

✔ Mechanical & electrical aptitude

✔ Current Driver’s Licence (Forklift licence desirable)

✔ Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket (desirable)

✔ Strong problem-solving, time management, and teamwork skills

✔ Knowledge of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, and workplace safety regulations
