About the role
This is a senior technical role delivering complex signalling and infrastructure projects across Victoria's regional rail network.
You'll lead end-to-end project delivery on large, multi-stakeholder programs of work, from concept to commissioning. These projects involve signalling upgrades, renewals, and integrations that directly impact the reliability and safety of train operations.
You will:
- Plan and manage complex rail signalling projects aligned with V/Line's governance frameworks.
- Oversee budgets, risks, schedules, procurement, safety, and delivery outcomes.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and major delivery partners.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, risk mitigation frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Chair meetings, lead reporting, and drive decision-making at project and program levels.
- Scope, sequence, and stage works to meet operational and safety requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation in project execution and team performance.
About you
This role requires deep technical expertise in signalling and a track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects, preferably within an industry Alliance framework.
To be considered, you'll need to meet all, or most, of the following key selection criteria:
Essential:
o Qualification and experience in rail signalling project delivery and development.
o At least 8 years' experience in large-scale project delivery in rail or heavy industry.
o Strong stakeholder engagement skills, ideally within government or major public infrastructure environments.
o Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach Signalling project teams.
Highly desirable:
o Formal qualifications in project management (preferably AIPM-accredited).
o Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, Communication or an affiliated engineering stream.

What we offer
Salary is offered in the range Mercer 6.1, from $167,100 Total Remuneration Package (TRP) to $202,600 (TRP).
Benefits include 4-week's annual leave, 12% employer-paid super (from 1-July 2025), and free myki for metro & regional travel.
