The Role:
We are seeking a Part-Time Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to support the company’s day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. The role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in using accounting software to maintain accurate financial records.
This is a part-time role, 3 days per week (0.6 full time equivalent).
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll
· Prepare weekly payroll for Support Office staff.
· First review of Venue specific weekly payroll.
· Support Venue staff with payroll or Tanda (Payroll software) queries.
· Liaise with group management re any payroll issues.
· Maintain accurate staff listing in Tanda, Xero and the contact spreadsheet.
Accounts Payable
· Manage Xero purchase register from invoice entry through to payment run.
· Create weekly payment packs and management reports.
· First review Venue specific weekly payment packs
· Ensure approvals are completed.
Accounts Receivable
· Manage the company Rebate register, liaising with suppliers when rebates become due.
· Raising Rebate Invoices when required.
· Rebate reconciliations.
General Ledger
· Xero Bank reconciliation for non-operating entities.
· First review of Xero bank reconciliation for Venues.
· Assisting in preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for all sites.
· Reconcile and maintain Support Office credit and fuel cards.
· Maintain and implement consistent administration practices across all venues.
· Assist in closing end of month processes.
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, experience up to trial balance level for 3+ years.
· Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Application.
· Proficiency in using Accounting Software (Xero preferred).
· Experience in award compliance including OHS and HR (desirable).
· Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
· Legal right to work in Australia.
· A positive energy and friendly disposition – we are a fun bunch.
