Our client is the largest service provider of its kind in Australia providing sustainable solutions to a range of customers including mining companies, councils, small businesses, large corporate entities, and government agencies.
The Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing commercial support to the Business Unit. This is an exciting time to join the business, as they are in growth mode and you will have the ability to influence business outcomes and profitability. You will partner with the Regional Manager and Commercial Finance Manager of WA and the NT to influence stakeholders across the business, so the right decisions are made. The position will also include the following:
- Providing commercial insight to support business growth, performance, and commercial governance
- Assisting in the delivery of results each month and the preparation of pricing models as required
- Undertaking budgeting, forecasting and strategic updates for the business
- Work with the accounting team to help manage the month-end activities
- Ensure targets are met on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Work closely with the Administration team to govern quality of data across the business
What makes this role exciting:
Whilst the Business Unit is profitable there are certain areas which are underperforming and you will love working with Operational teams to investigate, identify and put in place solutions to issues.
In addition, there is particular growth within the mining customer base which will see you apply your financial modelling and commercial nous to ensure sales teams deliver profitable contract terms.
Your skills and experience:
To be successful fin your application you will have strong commercial and business acumen and a proven ability to increase profitability across a business. You will also require:
- CA or CPA qualifications with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proven financial and commercial experience in a complex, diverse, multi-site businesses.
- Good experience in commercial tendering & price modelling
- Experience in the development and monitoring of budgets in a complex business
- Ability to influence stakeholders across the business
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner
- Willingness to travel as required
