The role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive (NSW/VIC/WA) who plays a critical role in identifying and securing new referral pathways, partnerships and growth opportunities for our specialised wound care and education services within the healthcare sector. This hybrid role combines strategic thinking and planning with hands-on lead generation and client engagement—responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing prospective leads, and building strong referral relationships with key stakeholders such as aged care facilities, general practices (GP’s), community health organisations, and disability providers.
You will act as the first point of contact for potential clients, representing our brand with professionalism, while working in close partnership with the National Relationship Manager to ensure a seamless transition from acquisition to long-term relationship management.
Key responsibilities
Business Development & Opportunity Generation
Proactively identifying and secure new business opportunities and enhance Wound Innovations market presence through exceptional sales skills, heightened prospecting efforts, and personal engagement in the following key areas: General Practice (GPs), Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs), Community Care (Home Care Package Providers), Disability Services (NDIS Providers)
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, accurately updating CRM system with lead status and next actions.
Self-generate sales leads and develop a new customer base to meet allocated revenue and sales targets
Develop and execute strategies to acquire new clients and expand the company’s customer base. Ability to work with a broad cross-section of stakeholders and translate client needs into a complete solution.
Conduct research to identify opportunities, and potential clients within the healthcare sector.
Promote the organisation’s wound care and education services to key decision-makers
Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches to potential clients and partners.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
Build and maintain trusted relationships with external stakeholders, healthcare professionals and key decision makers.
Represent the organisation at industry events, expos, and provider meetings
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure messaging is accurate and ethically aligned
Growth Strategy Support and Reporting
Assist in the development and execution of strategic growth plans
Track market activity, competitor movements, and referral trends to guide decision-making
Provide regular reporting on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with business goals.
Collaboration & Internal Support
Work with the National Relationship Manager to support the smooth onboarding of new referral partners
Work effectively with other departments and team members to align business development efforts with overall company objectives.
Key Requirements
Essential:
Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within the healthcare, aged care, or allied health sectors
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse stakeholders
Proven ability to close deals and increase revenue, meet and exceed growth targets or KPIs
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel interstate monthly as required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; Advanced Word skills (preferred) and experience using a CRM system.
Ability to generate revenue by identifying pain points and suggesting suitable services.
Excellent business acumen and professional communication skills
Great networking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to travel interstate monthly as required
Desirable:
Knowledge of wound care, community nursing, aged care, or NDIS sectors
Experience working with GPs, hospitals, or aged care providers
