About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld region.

The purpose of the Strategy and Partnerships team is to support community awareness of and engagement with IUIH and our network partner services and strengthen community health literacy and agency to improve health outcomes of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

About the Role?

The Director of Marketing and Communications, leads a team responsible for developing and delivering effective marketing and communications strategies that support IUIH’s vision purpose and values. The role requires strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and skilled communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve IUIH’s strategic goals.

Within this role, you will be required to:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plan that aligns with organisational goals.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of targeted marketing campaigns to promote health services and initiatives that appropriately reflect and connect with our Community.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leadership on emerging marketing trends, brand positioning, and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Marketing and Communications Team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Oversee the design, content, and functionality of IUIH’s digital platforms including websites and social media channels
  • Ensure brand consistency and compliance across all communications, in line with IUIH’s values and obligations to Community.

About You?

  • Current QLD Blue Card
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld)
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in the healthcare or nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing marketing campaigns and budgets.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead, mentor and motivate a team.
  • Excellent written, editorial and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective marketing and communications strategies.

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Demonstrated experience working sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their leaders and health professionals
