- North Sydney Office | Circa $94k package FTE including salary packaging
- 6-month contract with potential for long-term employment
- Part-time (3 days) with flexible hours and 2 days working from home
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer who is immediately available and looking for part-time work. Our client is a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation currently undergoing a payroll system implementation, and they are seeking additional support during this period.
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 400+ full-time, part-time, and casual staff. You’ll also assist with month-end and year-end reporting, working closely with their tight-knit finance team and broader stakeholder group.
The successful candidate will be given a high level of flexibility and autonomy, and the opportunity to take real ownership of the role. While initially a 6-month contract, there is potential for long-term employment for someone who can make the role their own. An immediate start is preferred.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day payroll for all Australian sites. Your duties will include the following:
- End-to-end preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll for 400+ staff
- Managing onboarding and offboarding, including new starters and terminations
- Maintaining and updating leave balances and entitlements
- Responding to a range of payroll-related queries in a timely and professional manner
- Processing superannuation, payroll tax, and WorkCover obligations
- Supporting accurate and timely month-end and year-end payroll reporting
- Assisting with internal audits and payroll reconciliations
- Completing WGEA reporting requirements
- Providing high-quality customer service to site-based staff
- Assisting management with continuous improvement and payroll process enhancements
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a payroll-focused role
- Exposure to high-volume payroll environments, ideally with 300+ employees
- Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with larger payroll systems such as iChris, SAP, Oracle, or similar
