The Maclean hotel is a family owned pub located on the banks of the Clarence river in Maclean NSW. We believe in bringing affordable yet quality food, ice-cold drinks and amazing service to all who walk through the doors of our historic building. We have an exciting opportunity for a head chef to join our established kitchen team!
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage day-to-day kitchen operations
• Design seasonal menus and specials in collaboration with management
• Maintain quality control for all dishes leaving the kitchen
• Manage inventory, food cost control, and supplier relationships
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff and bar to ensure smooth service
• Handle rostering and manage kitchen staffing levels
• Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements where needed

What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-paced kitchen
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Commitment to high food and hygiene standards
• Ability to thrive under pressure and during peak service hours
• Flexible and available to work across all 7 days, including weekends and holidays
