Your Role in a Nutshell
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you’ll play a hands-on role in designing, delivering and optimising our infrastructure and cloud environments. You’ll be a trusted technical authority across Azure, networking, identity, endpoint management and automation, and a driving force behind scalable, secure and resilient solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the design and delivery of modern infrastructure solutions in Azure
- Drive cloud transformation, automation and cost optimisation initiatives
- Provide expert input into strategic roadmaps and technical direction
- Collaborate across IT and business teams to identify and close infrastructure gaps
- Mentor and support engineers while guiding high-value project delivery
- Tackle escalated incidents and ensure performance, resilience and availability of key platforms
- Uplift documentation, governance and change management across infrastructure delivery
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of deep experience in infrastructure and cloud engineering
- Proven success in delivering complex Azure-based projects
- Expert knowledge across Azure services (VMs, Virtual Desktop, security, networking, governance), Entra ID, Intune, scripting ((PowerShell, IaC), and monitoring
- Strong problem-solving, architecture design and solution delivery skills
- A proactive mindset focused on automation, innovation and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication, mentoring and collaboration skills
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with AI-driven automation, DevOps pipelines or FinOps
- Exposure to Microsoft Teams telephony or SharePoint administration
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Microsoft certifications – Required: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect
- Microsoft certifications – Desirable: Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Network Engineer, Azure Security Engineer, Azure AI Engineer, or similar
Experience
- 8-10+ years in senior technical infrastructure or cloud engineering roles within complex environments
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects and enhancements in Microsoft Azure environments in corporate or enterprise environments
Technical Expertise
- Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking, security, Virtual Desktop, Site Recovery, cost optimisation/FinOps, automation)
- Azure governance (cost management, tagging, policies, RBAC)
- Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access and modern identity services
- Azure Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewalls, and security controls
- Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online and M365
- Automation and scripting (PowerShell, Azure automation, DevOps pipelines, Infrastructure as Code)
- Monitoring and alerting (Log Analytics, Azure Monitor)
- High availability, disaster recovery, and resilience planning
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with:
- Patch management and update strategies (design and orchestration)
- Experience integrating or deploying AI and automation technologies into infrastructure environments
- Strong understanding of DevOps, infrastructure as code (IaC), and change management best practices

- Strong documentation, project tracking, and stakeholder engagement skills

- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Unified Communications Telephony
- SharePoint administration knowledge
