About the Role

This role will see you working closely with our Head of Network/Infrastructure to design, implement, and optimize core infrastructure components, including data center technologies, networking, virtualization, and software-defined platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise in VMware NSX-T, vSphere, vSAN, Cisco networking, AVI Load Balancer, and enterprise storage with a collaborative spirit and passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Network Management

Configure and maintain enterprise-grade switches, routers, firewalls, and WAN links.

Manage BGP routing, VLANs, VPNs (IPSec & SSL), and high-availability network topologies.

Perform OS upgrades, network hardening, and patching according to compliance requirements.

Virtualization & Software-Defined Infrastructure

Deploy and administer VMware vSphere, vCenter, and NSX-T environments.

Implement NSX-T components such as T0/T1 routers, segments, DFW, NAT, and VPNs.

Configure and maintain vSAN clusters, including storage policies and performance tuning.

Manage lifecycle, patching, and DRS/HA configurations for virtual infrastructure.

Load Balancing & Application Delivery

Operate and optimize VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (AVI) for L4-L7 traffic management.

Configure virtual services, SSL offloading, health monitors, and security policies (WAF, DDoS).

Support service availability, multi-site load balancing, and integration with NSX/vSphere.

Enterprise Storage & Backup

Manage SAN/NAS storage platforms (iSCSI, NFS, Fibre Channel).

Provision LUNs, monitor performance, and manage multipath/failover setups.

Support backup policies and data retention using enterprise tools.

Automation & Scripting

Work with YAML-based configuration files (NSX exports, AVI configs, Terraform manifests).

Use PowerCLI, Ansible, or other tools for infrastructure automation and repeatability.

Data Center Infrastructure

Ensure physical and logical redundancy, rack management, and cabling best practices.

Oversee firmware upgrades, hardware health, and remote access tools (IPMI/DRAC/iLO).

Infrastructure Operations & Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot network/storage/compute issues end-to-end, including RCA documentation.

Monitor system performance and proactively resolve availability issues.

Security & Compliance

Enforce segmentation, ACLs, firewall policies, and secure access across platforms.

Support MFA, endpoint hardening, and infrastructure audits.

Core IT Services

Maintain Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, GPOs, and high-availability domain controller services.

Support Exchange, email continuity, and monitoring integrations.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network and infrastructure engineering.

Expertise in VMware platforms: vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and AVI Load Balancer.

Strong knowledge of Cisco network infrastructure and protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs).

Working knowledge of enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.

Comfort with YAML, scripting (PowerCLI, Ansible), and configuration automation.

Excellent documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Certifications

VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, VCIX, or VMware Specialist – AVI Load Balancer

CCNP, CCIE, or NSE7

Familiarity with compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Benchmarking)
