RDPH is the principle tertiary hospital within the region and provides a broad range of referral services in all specialist areas to Darwin, the Top End of the NT, Western Australia and South-East Asia. Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) is recognised as Australia’s National Critical care and Trauma Response Centre, and Palmerston Regional Hospital (PRH) is a satellite campus providing elective surgical services

As a Clinical Nurse, Orthopaedic, you will collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Perioperative Unit to deliver high-level clinical care for orthopaedic surgical procedures.

Your primary objective will be to apply your advanced nursing/midwifery knowledge, skills, attributes and abilities to develop therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as with families, groups and communities. In addition, you will provide leadership and care coordination, work a flexible roster and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

To be successful, you will be an accomplished Nurse/Midwife with advanced perioperative skills, are eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and have completed a Graduate Diploma and/or beyond entry-to-practice certificate.

Ongoing appointment is subject to possession of a Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice in a relevant speciality.
