About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be part of a high performing, collaborative legal team that works across a wide range of commercial, governance, and regulatory matters.
As Legal Graduate, you will be given the opportunity to learn, contribute and grow through a range of work and structured support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting legal team members with research, drafting and advice across areas including contracts, property, governance, privacy and employment law;
- Attending stakeholder meetings and gaining exposure to legal negotiations;
- Contributing to legal templates, processes and internal precedents;
- Monitoring the legal inbox;
- Helping to prepare legal training and briefing materials;
- Staying across legislative changes and supporting internal education;
- Participating in project work and cross-functional initiatives; and
- Learning how to simplify and communicate legal issues in a clear, practical way.
Skills/Experience:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
- Completed your LLB and PLT and already be admitted (or eligible for admission) with up to 1 year post admission experience;
- Candidates with prior legal experience (including Paralegal or Law Clerk experience in private practice or in-house) will be highly regarded;
- A genuine interest in commercial, contracts and property law;
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills;
- An open minded, positive approach and willingness to learn from others; and
- A values-driven mindset and interest in working in the NFP sector.
