Job location
Our Corporate Office is located at Thomas Embling Hospital just 15 minutes north of the city.
Due to our announced expansion across all Directorates, we have a need for experienced like-minded professionals to join our team to support our growing services.
Our Directorates includes Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison Operations and our Community Directorate with highly skilled disciplines including Nursing, Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychologists and Social Work.
We have an outstanding L&D and discipline Educator co-hort that continually upskill our already skilled and supportive team.
About the Role:
The role plays an important part in supporting, co-ordinating and leading relevant projects in the management of People & Corporate Services that have organisational wide impact. The role will work across the People & Corporate Services teams and takes direction from the Head of Business Support Services. The position plays a pivotal part in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the outcomes of the allotted Business Improvements.
Duties:
- Develop, plan, manage, implement and support relevant projects, keeping person-centred care at the centre of project design and delivery.
- Undertake research and analysis for people and culture specific projects and other improvement projects as required.
- Lead project development and management that support the development and delivery of the outcomes of each project.
- Implement appropriate project management methodologies, including development of template project management documentation such as project initiation documents and project plans.
- Review project scopes and risk of the projects to identify gaps and/or weaknesses and put in place relevant mitigation strategies to support delivery of each allocated project.
About You:
- Relevant project management, strategy development and co-ordination experience
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in business, project management or Human Resources would be highly desirable
- Ability to engage, consult and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to map, analyse and continuously improve business and operational policies and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to equality and diversity related projects
- Proven ability to problem solve and analyse issues from different perspectives and draw sound inferences from information available to propose, develop and implement workable solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilise project management software application/s

Our story
Forensicare (Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health) is the state-wide specialist provider of forensic mental health services in Victoria. Forensicare is the only agency in Victoria that provides clinical forensic mental health services which span all components of the mental health and criminal justice sectors – giving Forensicare a unique perspective on mental health and public safety issues. It is able to provide specialist forensic mental health services tailored to meet the specific needs of both sectors.
We provide forensic mental health services for people:
with a serious mental illness in the criminal justice system
at risk of offending who pose a risk to themselves or others
referred from the general mental health system for specialist advice, support and/or treatment.
Forensicare’s primary focus is the provision of clinical services within a recovery framework. These services include the effective assessment, treatment and management of forensic patients, prisoners and clients.
