About the Role
Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) is seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to support the organisation’s financial operations. This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of payroll, accounts payable, and receivable, while ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies. You will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the broader finance function within a collaborative team and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment allocation, and debtor follow-up.
Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments in line with organisational policy.
Accurately prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with tax, superannuation, and award obligations.
Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist with monthly and annual financial procedures.
Maintain accurate financial records and data integrity.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as vendors, employees, and government agencies.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support audit and reporting processes.
Key Accountabilities
Payroll: Processed on time with no errors; superannuation and tax obligations met.
Accounts Receivable: Timely invoicing and payment allocation; proactive debt management.
Accounts Payable: Accurate and timely payment processing.
Financial Compliance: Adherence to legislation, financial standards, and policies.
Reporting: Support preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and audit readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build positive relationships with suppliers, staff, and external agencies.
What You Bring
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification in accounting, finance, or related discipline (Certificate IV or Diploma) or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Proven experience in payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Familiarity with financial software such as MYOB or Xero.
Understanding of financial compliance, tax obligations, and superannuation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check or willingness to obtain.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
