Overview
As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all Fusion’s operational plant equipment and systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on our machinery and equipment.
Diagnose faults and overhaul mechanical components, minimizing downtime.
Interpret specifications from drawings to determine correct methods, machine settings and suitable materials to be used.
Fit and fabricate metals parts on our machinery and equipment’s ensuring checks for accuracy are completed.
Tag out-of-service equipment, manage danger tags, and ensure the repairs are completed.
Ensure maintenance bay is clean, organised, and compliant with QHSE standards.
Develop and maintain procedures for issuing/receiving tools and equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance and service documentation.
Handle procurement: request quotes, purchase tools/consumables, register and engrave new equipment.
Follow Fusion’s Integrated Management System (IMS) – quality, health, safety, and environment policies.
Skills & Experience Required
Trade qualification Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade & Fitting or equivalent
1 years minimum experience in Mechanical Fitting
Strong organisational skills, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills; works well independently and in a team.
Analytical problem-solving and effective decision-making aptitude.
Understanding of QHSE/IMS systems and safety procedures.
