An opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced finance professional to play a central role in budget planning for a major government-owned energy entity. This role focuses on preparing the FY27 budget submission for shareholder Ministers in collaboration with internal finance leads.
This is a contract role to February 2026, ideal for a CA/CPA-qualified analyst with public sector budgeting experience who enjoys structured delivery and is comfortable in a technically focused role.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of the FY27 corporate budget in collaboration with the Corporate Finance Manager
- Coordinate financial inputs from across the organisation and consolidate into formal submission documents
- Prepare detailed presentations and financial summaries for senior executive and shareholder stakeholders
- Manage SAP BPC systems for budget data entry, reporting and integrity
- Liaise with Queensland Treasury and ensure compliance with Tridata submission protocols
- Assist in periodic forecasting and corporate financial planning reviews
- Produce board-level materials including the Statement of Corporate Intent and Corporate Plan
What You’ll Bring
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong end-to-end budgeting experience within a government-owned corporation or similar public sector environment
- Familiarity with the Queensland Government’s reporting requirements
- Confidence with SAP BPC and Excel-based financial modelling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage large datasets and deliver to tight reporting deadlines
- Comfortable working in a structured and process-driven environment
