An opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced finance professional to play a central role in budget planning for a major government-owned energy entity. This role focuses on preparing the FY27 budget submission for shareholder Ministers in collaboration with internal finance leads.

This is a contract role to February 2026, ideal for a CA/CPA-qualified analyst with public sector budgeting experience who enjoys structured delivery and is comfortable in a technically focused role.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development of the FY27 corporate budget in collaboration with the Corporate Finance Manager
• Coordinate financial inputs from across the organisation and consolidate into formal submission documents
• Prepare detailed presentations and financial summaries for senior executive and shareholder stakeholders
• Manage SAP BPC systems for budget data entry, reporting and integrity
• Liaise with Queensland Treasury and ensure compliance with Tridata submission protocols
• Assist in periodic forecasting and corporate financial planning reviews
• Produce board-level materials including the Statement of Corporate Intent and Corporate Plan

What You’ll Bring

• CA or CPA qualification
• Strong end-to-end budgeting experience within a government-owned corporation or similar public sector environment
• Familiarity with the Queensland Government’s reporting requirements
• Confidence with SAP BPC and Excel-based financial modelling
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage large datasets and deliver to tight reporting deadlines
• Comfortable working in a structured and process-driven environment
