THE ROLE
The Director, Practice Leadership and Program Development plays a critical role in leading practice and program development across The Orange Door network. Working in close partnership with colleagues across Family Safety Victoria, other divisions within the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and partner agencies in The Orange Door network, the Director drives practice and system improvements across The Orange Door and provides authoritative, expert advice and practice leadership to improve service delivery and client experience.
As part of Family Safety Victoria's Operations executive team, the Director works in close collaboration with the four divisional Operations Directors to embed a unified understanding of integrated practice across The Orange Door partner agencies. The Director leads teams to build statewide consistency through program management and practice support activities including developing and maintaining evidence-based practice and operational guidance and training materials, and proactively responding to emerging risks. The Director also works closely with DFFH's Office of Professional Practice.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide authoritative, specialist practice advice and consultation regarding family violence and children and family service delivery by demonstrating evidence-informed practice development, leadership and influence.
- Use specialist expertise to support capability uplift and the embedding of family violence practice reform aligned to recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence 2016.
- Work in partnership with Family Safety Victoria's Operations leadership team to embed a unified approach to integrated practice, resolve complex problems through astute judgement and decisiveness, and impact statewide delivery of services through The Orange Door.
