Qualifications & experience
Must have current registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
Tertiary qualifications in allied health or related discipline (e.g., Psychology, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Education) and / or relevant experience.
Minimum 6 months of experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
Experience completing functional assessments and writing Behaviour Support Plans (deidentified work samples will be required during interview process).
Experience supporting participants with Restrictive Practices and thorough knowledge of NDIS guidelines for Restrictive Practices.
Experience working with a range of intellectual, developmental and psychosocial disabilities.
Experience managing your own calendar to ensure timeframes and deadlines are met.
Tasks & responsibilities
Working collaboratively with participants, their families, and other stakeholders to support participants to achieve their goals
Engaging directly with participants and their carers to create Behaviour Support Plans which reflect participant goals
Conducting comprehensive functional assessments
Providing training and ongoing support to implementers of Behaviour Support Plans
Identifying, reporting and monitoring restrictive practices, including facilitating relevant data collection
Adherence to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements
Attendance at regular clinical supervision, including group supervision with other behaviour support practitioners
