About the role

Destiny Therapy Group is seeking a passionate and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality behaviour support and positive behavioural interventions to clients with complex needs. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans that promote independence, improve quality of life, and empower the individuals we support.

What you'll be doing

Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours

Develop and implement evidence-based behaviour support plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the clinical team

Provide training and coaching to clients, families, and support staff to ensure effective implementation of behaviour support strategies

Monitor and review behaviour support plans, making adjustments as needed to achieve positive outcomes

Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to support

Maintain detailed client records and contribute to the overall evaluation of the behaviour support program

Actively participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date with best practices in behaviour support

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field

Minimum 3 years of experience in behaviour support or a similar role, preferably in the NDIS sector

Demonstrated expertise in conducting functional assessments and developing evidence-based behaviour support plans

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each client

Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in behaviour support

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes for clients

Ability to work from home, autonomosly and self-directed
