North Brisbane Sleep & Thoracic is a leading provider of comprehensive respiratory and sleep service offering Specialist Thoracic Physician consultations and Respiratory and Sleep investigations. We are currently looking for a Sleep technician to join our team on a casual basis for 2-3 evenings/nights per week.

As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity for career progression and development. While experience in sleep studies and PAP therapy is highly regarded, on the job training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

The role includes, but is not limited to:

Setting up patients for home sleep studies

Conducting overnight Diagnostic and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) sleep studies

Preparing rooms and patients for sleep studies

Operating sleep related software and equipment

Work at both our North Lakes and Clayfield clinics

Maintain quality assurance practices and laboratory maintenance as detailed in the North Brisbane Sleep & Thoracic documented procedures

Practice standard precautions of infection control to ensure the safety of health care provided to both the patients and staff

Essential:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members

Strong attention to detail and initiative to problem solve

Ability to work independently and proactively during an 11 hours continuous overnight shift

Excellent Computer skills with the ability to quickly learn, operate and troubleshoot diagnostic software and equipment

Actively maintain high level professionalism and patient confidentiality

Friendly, empathetic, and patient-focused attitude

Ability to work evening and/or overnight shifts and adapt to a flexible schedule

Current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and basic life support or willingness to obtain within the first month

Biomedical Sciences background or equivalent qualification is preferred (e.g., human movements, health sciences)

Desirable:

Previous experience in sleep or healthcare is advantageous but not essential; on the job training will be provided for the right candidate.
